White spots after sunbathing: this is how they arise and how to get rid of them!

After your sun session you will feel completely reborn. Until you look in the mirror and notice that there are some white spots on your body. These stains are not a reason to panic, there can be various causes for this and you can get rid of them easily.

Move more

The most common reason for white spots on your body after using a tanning bed are pressure points. However, these only occur in certain places. Such as on your shoulder blades, elbows or above your tailbone. To ensure that you get a beautiful tan, a combination of UV light and oxygen is needed in the skin. The oxygen is supplied from your blood vessels. If you suffer from white spots in the above-mentioned places, this could simply be that there is too much pressure on the blood vessels, causing them to supply less oxygen. As a result, these places have remained 'white'. Don't worry: fortunately this is very easy to solve. From now on, just exercise under the sunbed. For example, turn yourself over during the last 5 minutes of your tanning session so that you can tan evenly everywhere.

Right products

Even with dry skin, UV light can be reflected, causing you to tan less evenly on the drier areas of your skin. This makes it very important that you properly hydrate your skin before, during and after sunbathing. In this way, the UV light can tan your body beautifully and evenly. We always recommend using a sunbed cream under the sunbed and a sunscreen in the outdoor sun. We have different creams for both occasions our assortment . Are you curious which products work best for you? Do it then here the test!

Skin fungus

Another reason that can cause these white spots is a skin fungus. These are often several small spots that can occur throughout the body, but are more likely to occur around the neck, shoulders and arms. This skin fungus is called Pityrosporon. This fungus, as it were, slows down your pigmentation and thickens your epidermis. This is of course very annoying, especially because it is often only visible when the rest of your body is already pigmented and therefore has a nice color. This fungus often disappears on its own, but in some cases it may spread further. In that case, we always recommend consulting your doctor. They can prescribe various medications to treat the fungus so that it disappears.
